Work With Mark
Practical leadership development grounded in responsibility, service, and experience.
Leadership challenges rarely come from a lack of information.
More often, organizations are trying to help good people become effective leaders, strengthen the leaders closest to the work, or navigate change without losing trust, clarity, and connection.
My work focuses on helping leaders and organizations build the judgment, confidence, and sense of responsibility needed to lead well.
I bring together more than 25 years of leadership experience, more than a decade of teaching business and leadership, and a practical approach shaped by servant leadership, stewardship, and leader formation.
Whether the need is a workshop, consulting engagement, or speaking event, the goal is the same:
Develop leaders who are prepared to carry responsibility well.
Leadership Workshops
Practical development for leaders closest to the work.
The transition from individual contributor to leader is one of the most important and often least-supported transitions in an organization.
A strong performer may understand the work extremely well but still need help learning how to lead people, make decisions through others, build trust, provide direction, and develop a team.
My workshops are designed to help new and frontline leaders make that transition with greater confidence and clarity.
Topics may include moving from doer to leader, servant leadership in practice, leading through change, developing others, building trust and accountability, stewardship and responsibility, and the role of the frontline leader.
Sessions can be adapted for emerging leaders, new managers, leadership teams, or broader organizational development programs.
Available formats: 60–90 minute sessions, half-day workshops, full-day programs, and multi-session leadership development series.
Organizational Consulting
Helping organizations strengthen leadership where strategy becomes work.
Many organizational challenges are ultimately leadership challenges.
A strategy may be sound, but execution breaks down. Change may be necessary, but employees do not understand how it affects their work. Managers may be technically capable, but they have not been prepared to lead people through uncertainty, conflict, or competing priorities.
I work with organizations to examine these challenges through the lens of leadership, workforce development, management effectiveness, and organizational execution.
Consulting engagements may include leadership development strategy, frontline-manager development, management-role clarity, leadership communication, organizational change, succession and emerging-leader development, and leadership-program design.
My approach is practical and collaborative. The goal is not to introduce another complicated leadership model. It is to help organizations identify what their leaders actually need and build development around the realities of the work.
Speaking & Facilitation
Thoughtful conversations about leadership, responsibility, and service.
I speak to leadership teams, professional groups, educational organizations, and other audiences about the responsibilities that come with leading others.
My presentations combine practical leadership experience with reflection, research, and ideas participants can carry back into their own work.
Topics may include leadership as responsibility, servant leadership beyond the slogan, why the leaders closest to the work matter, the transition from doer to leader, stewardship and the responsibility to lead, and leading through change without losing the people.
Speaking engagements can be tailored for conferences, leadership retreats, professional associations, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, and organizational leadership events.
Start With the Challenge
You do not need to know whether the right answer is a workshop, consulting engagement, or speaking session before reaching out.
Start with the challenge.
Tell me what your organization or leaders are facing, and we can determine whether there is a useful way for me to help.
